These groups are prioritized as Phase 1B of the state of Texas vaccine distribution plan.Frontlines healthcare workers who have yet to receive the vaccine also are eligible to sign up to get the shot through the health department, the release said. Healthcare workers are grouped as part of Phase 1A distribution. Before the online site was launched, appointments have been available through the citys health departments COVID-19 call center."The new online registration, in addition to the call center, will make the process more efficient. While there is great public demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, there is also a lot of hesitancy. I understand the concerns, but I encourage all eligible Houstonians to get vaccinated to help stop the spread of the deadly virus," said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. As additional doses become more plentiful in the coming weeks and months, the department will ramp up local vaccination efforts and announce other free vaccination opportunities.var addthis_config = {"data_track_addressbar":false};(For the latest China news, Please follow Peoples Daily on Twitter and Facebook)(Web editor: Wen Ying, Liang Jun)Add your comment/* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * */var shortname=window.location.host;var disqus_shortname=;var disqus_identifier=;if (shortname==en.people.cn){disqus_shortname=enpeople;disqus_identifier = 9805910;}/* * * DONT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */(function() {var dsq = document.createElement(script); dsq.type = text/javascript; dsq.async = true;dsq.src = // + disqus_shortname + .disqus.com/embed.js;(document.getElementsByTagName(head)[0] || document.getElementsByTagName(body)[0]).appendChild(dsq);})();Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.Related readingU.S. calls Irans decision on 20-percent uranium enrichment "nuclear extortion"Indonesia receives China-made COVID-19 vaccinesJiangxi begins COVID-19 vaccination among key groupsChina vaccinating key groups against COVID-19Efforts to challenge Electoral College results divide Senate RepublicansDelivery problems with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine slow Spains vaccinationWe RecommendXiongan Railway Station to be put into operation by end of this year
